Attendees can also expect to see highly anticipated performances from some of the pioneers of Hip-Hop curated by&nbsp;<strong>Doug E. Fresh&nbsp;<\/strong>including&nbsp;<strong>Big Daddy Kane, EPMD, KRS- One&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>Slick Rick<\/strong>. In addition, hitting the stage that night will be performances from&nbsp;<strong>Tems<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Tobe Nwigwe<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Jagged Edge&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>Ari Lennox,&nbsp;<\/strong>hosted by&nbsp;<strong>Deon Cole&nbsp;<\/strong>and musical sounds by&nbsp;<strong>DJ Clark Kent.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Saturday, July 1st,\u00a0<\/strong>will be sure to show attendees how to \u2018work it\u2019 as the first female in Hip-Hop to be inducted into the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame,\u00a0<strong>Missy Elliott<\/strong>, graces the center stage for a can\u2019t-miss performance! From Philadelphia to the French Quarter, an injection of Philly Soul will pierce through this year\u2019s festival, when the one and only <strong>Jermaine Dupri\u00a0<\/strong>will curate a special \u201cThe South Got Something to Say&#8221; performance highlighting some of the biggest Hip-Hop artists from the ATL with\u00a0<strong>Ludacris<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>T.I., Gucci Mane<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Lil Jon\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Big Boi<\/strong>. The second night in the concert series will also include R&amp;B hits from\u00a0<strong>Monica\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Coco Jones<\/strong>, hosted by\u00a0<strong>Affion Crockett\u00a0<\/strong>&amp;\u00a0<strong>Spice Adams<\/strong>, with\u00a0<strong>DJ Kid Capri\u00a0<\/strong>on the Wheels of Steel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To close out the festival\u2019s evening concert series on\u00a0<strong>Sunday, July 2nd<\/strong>, 3x Grammy Award-winning artist\u00a0<strong>Megan Thee Stallion<\/strong>, will hit the stage and get attendees in the right mood for a \u2018hot girl summer\u2019! Radio\u00a0 the one and only\u00a0<strong>Jill Scott\u00a0<\/strong>rocks the mic, to bring some Brotherly&#8230;and Sisterly Love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">West Coast All-Stars\u00a0<strong>Ice Cube<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>DJ Quik<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ice T, Yo-Yo<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Lady of Rage<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>J.J. Fad\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>E-40<\/strong>, will remind, and show, the city of New Orleans that California knows how to party. Icon\u00a0<strong>Angie Martinez\u00a0<\/strong>is bringing a golden celebration of the women who changed the face of Hip-Hop and influenced culture with a curation of performances by\u00a0<strong>Eve<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Salt-N-Pepa<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Remy Ma<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Trina\u00a0<\/strong>and New Orleans\u2019 own\u00a0<strong>Mia X.\u00a0<\/strong>Afrobeats hitmaker and Grammy-award winning artist\u00a0<strong>Wizkid\u00a0<\/strong>will join the closing night along with R&amp;B songstress\u00a0<strong>Muni Long\u00a0<\/strong>and Nigerian singer-songwriter\u00a0<strong>Kizz Daniel<\/strong>, hosted by <em>Abbott<\/em> <em>Elementary\u00a0<\/em>breakout star\u00a0<strong>Janelle James<\/strong> with throwback jams and remixes, to keep the party going from <strong>DJ Spinderella<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>But, nah, we\u2019re not finished.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like Hip-Hop, the ESSENCE Festival of CultureTM presented by Coca-Cola\u00ae is more than just the music.
