Grammy-nominated rapper, singer, and actor Tobe Nwigwe immediately stopped performing and called for help when he noticed a woman in the crowd falling ill. While waiting for paramedics to arrive, Nwigwe told his wife, Fat, to “bring her some of the baby’s juice,” referring to what they had prepared for one of their three children on stage with them.
Tobe skillfully kept the audience calm until the woman was assisted and taken away. Afterwards, he commented, “Wow, I’ve never had that happen before on a slow song.”
Tobe was amongst many national artists and chefs such as Summer Walker, Miguel, Chloe, Coco Jones, Lucky Daye, Tems, Mary J. Blige, Houston All-Stars Scarface, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Z-Ro, Lil Keke, Tabitha Brown, Marcus Samuelsson, Tiffany Derry, Marcus Davis, and others who participated in Sugarland’s inaugural two-day global food and music festival.
